about me
After completing the Culinary Arts program at the Institute of Culinary Education in 2019, I gained real-life experience in the food media industry through my job at Saveur Magazine as a Test Kitchen contributor. While there, I pitched ideas for Saveur’s 2019 Summer and Fall issues which would eventually go on to be published, and I sourced ingredients and stories for the “Food Doesn’t Care” About Borders” issue. My experience at Saveur was nothing short of wonderful. I had the chance to meet major players in the food media industry, working alongside James Beard award-winning chefs and authors.
Shortly after my time at Saveur, I finished my undergraduate degree at ASU in three semesters, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was accepted to the University of Southern California. There, I received my Master of Arts in Specialized Journalism in December 2022. I thrived at USC and built a successful portfolio of professionally edited and publishable feature essays, articles, restaurant reviews, and literary reportage pieces. Many of them can be read on my Substack.
In the spring of 2022, I traveled around France to report on regional French cuisine as well as my personal and familial history. My experiences in France are encapsulated in my thesis, Finding My Own Moveable Feast, a book proposal. My thesis can be read here.
In the fall of 2022, I accepted a funded offer for the Literary Reportage M.F.A. program at New York University.
